Tiny Tots
Age 3-4 years

This unique program for younger horse lovers is a 30 minute lesson with 10-15 minutes of grooming and learning proper care and handling of the horse, and 15-20 minutes of riding.  Safety is paramount and children are kept on a lead line.

Beginner Lessons
30 minutes

Whether you are 5 or 65, it’s not too late to learn to ride or drive a beautiful American Saddlebred horse!  All students learn at their own pace in a controlled, safe environment.

Intermediate Lessons
30 minutes

Once you become proficient at the walk and trot, you will progress to the Intermediate Level where you can ride in a Semi-Private Lesson with others your same age and skill level. Riders at this level walk, trot and canter.

Advanced Group Lessons
45 minutes

Advanced riders are responsible for grooming, taking up and cooling out their own mounts.
You might begin to explore the possibility of leasing or purchasing a horse of your own and graduating from the Academy Program to the Performance Division!

James Hale Stables offers English/Saddle Seat riding lessons for Beginner to Advanced riders, ages 5+, as well as Tiny Tot lessons for little ones ages 3-5.

Benefits of Horseback Riding:
  • Teaches Responsibility, Discipline & Respect
  • Builds Confidence and Self-Esteem
  • Promotes Coordination and Balance
  • Great Exercise and Stress Reliever

All riders begin with a Private Lesson to determine your skill level and evaluate your goals.  Once you learn the basics, you may step up to a Semi-Private or Group Lesson.  Groups are kept to a maximum of 5 riders so that each rider receives adequate personal attention and instruction.

We raise and train American Saddlebred horses and would love to introduce you to this beautiful, intelligent and versatile breed.  Saddlebreds are the ultimate show horse - naturally high stepping and elegant!  While they may be ridden any discipline, we specialize in Saddle Seat riding and we do not jump.
